Coding for Schools is a flagship program by Usayansi Kenya that empowers students in rural and marginalized communities through transformative access to coding, robotics, and digital innovation. Designed to bridge the digital divide, the program establishes vibrant coding and robotics clubs in both junior and senior schools across Kenya, nurturing a generation of young tech creators, problem solvers, and future innovators.
Through hands-on, grade-appropriate, and engaging content, Coding for Schools introduces learners—from primary grades up to Grade 12—to the exciting world of technology and computational thinking. Students are equipped with skills that are not only aligned with Kenya’s Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) but also globally relevant in the 21st-century digital economy.

Primary School
Grade 1-6
- Introduction to Computational Thinking and Block-Based Coding
- Creative problem-solving using Scratch and COBOBLOCKS Premium kits
- Interactive activities using Micro:bit, basic robotics, and STEM games
- Fundamentals of digital safety, logic, and automation
Junior School
Grade 7-9
- Microcontroller programming using micro:bit and arduino
- Building simple robotics systems (Obstacle avoider,smart lighting)
- Introduction to python programming.
- Project based learning focused on real -world challenges in local communities.
Senior School
Grade 9-12
- Advanced Python programming (data structures, file handling, problem solving)
- Robotics and IoT projects using Arduino, sensors, and actuators
- Integration of AI and Machine Learning concepts using beginner-friendly platforms
- Exposure to web development basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
